On Tuesday night, 25 Kichijo students and 2 teachers arrived in NEGS. Those girls are either 16 or 17 years old. So young! The female teacher Ms.Fujimoto used to be my English teacher when I was at Kichijo. She was the head teacher of the homeroom teachers in my whole grade as well, and I really admired her (and afraid of her too!) during my high school life.
According to their program, they took some classes in the morning, which were specially arranged for them, and then went sightseeing or shopping by bus in the afternoon. Using my spare time, I sometimes took part in their classes together. I attended to the following classes: Geography, Art, Music, teaching origami to kindergarten kids, and of course, Japanese classes. All of these classes reminded me of my old days.
My drawing and painting. How are they?? Kindergarten kids. Kawaii~~
I followed the Kichijos' tour every afternoon. We went to many places: Wednesday: a Christian church and shopping in town Thursday: Aboriginal Culture-keeping Place Friday: Shopping at the supermarket Weekends: They experienced homestaying out side the school campus Monday: Wildlife Keeping Place and a museum in the neighboring town Tuesday: study about Armidale history at the Folk Musium Wednesday: a tour in the near-by university campus Thusday: Australian sweets cooking Friday: BBQ near Dangar's Fall
Spending time with the students, I learned more about Armidale and Australia together. It was such a good opportunity for me too! I was especially interested in the Aborigini's culture and history, the history and the geography of Australia, and about Armidale town.
I'm glad Kichijo girls seemed to have enjoyed Australian life very much.
Taking pictures of a Koala "So~~~ cute!" Listening to the curator man in the museum Australian nature!!!
